Sodium Chloride

Just a little atom of chlorine,
valence minus one,
swimming through the sea, digging a scene.
Just having fun.
She’s not worried about the shape or size
of her outside shell.
It’s fun to ionize,
just a little atom of Cl
with an unfilled shell.

But somewhere in this sea lurks
Handsome Sodium
with enough electrons on his outside shell
plus that extra one.
Somewhere in this deep blue sea
there’s a negative
for my extra energy.
Yes! Somewhere in this foam
my positive will find a home!”

Then unsuspecting chlorine
felt a magnetic pull.
She looked down and her outside shell was full.
Sodium cried, “What a gas! Be my bride!
And I will change your name from Chlorine to Chloride”

Now the sea evaporates to make the clouds,
for the rain and snow
leaving her chemical compounds in the absence of H2O.
But the crystals that wash upon the shore
are happy ones.
So, if you never thought before,
think of the love that you eat
when you salt your meat.

A Tree in My Garden

Organizing a community project is always something less favorable......
the meeting till late night, the overtime, the extra workload, and finally the early wake-up on the D-day
However, team-work finally brought us through the day
A job well-done !
In thise photo published in The Star, showing Landscape workers distributing free Ixora plants .
A Nepali worker, Dil is the star of the day. he was so pround being highlighted in the paper, while his superiors being his background... Rajan, Chan, Lua and me...
The one wearing straw-hat is 暗锤loh

《卜算子》

我住长江头,君住长江尾。
日日思君不见君,共饮长江水。
此水几时休,此恨何时已。
只愿君心似我心,定不负相思意。

FB Games

Hooked to games on Facebook recently, especially the Farm Town and Restaurant City .

Someone told me to be more realistic, don’t get too fond with the virtual world .
Is it so ?.

Maybe he is right, maybe I am trying to run away from the reality .
It is not so a wonderful world out there
Life is harder in reality .
Mistakes were done, lives still need to goes on . . . can't stop, can't pause, can't undo
But whatever done is done, can’t be forever forget and definitely can’t be undone .

In Farm Town, I choose to have an integrated farm, with various crops, and animals .
Do away with the conventional plantation agriculture .
I will start my own farm, self-sustainable, environmental friendly, bio-diversify, for food security, not for capitalism .
a tool for teaching too, perhaps.

I will add in all the good stuff, make it a better place .
If I can't practice what I learned in the real world, at least I do it in the virtual world .

Won't buy a mansion, its expensive
Won't spend money on fancy accessories either
Won't repeat the mistakes I made in the real world

A new start

River of Slum

These are photos i took on 5th June, 2009 over the Klang River
What a sight !

i forwarded the photos to DoE, Irrigation & Drainage Department, MBSA and some other government departments, MPs and ADUNs. Surprisingly, it was hard to google out their emails. Finally after i emailed then, the mails were all bounched back !

Only the one to MBSA get through, yet they replied, : "Hasil pemerhatian aduan sampah di sungai bukan di bawah bidangkuasa MBSA dan di bawah pihak JPA. Harap maklum."

Haze

Haze is now a part of Malaysia's weather, normally occured around draught seasons. It is caused by local Hotspots, as well as neighboring countries' as a result of open burning in agriculture.

The haze was once so bad that the state o emergency were declared in some part of Malaysia.

The photos i took during the latest worst haze were on 12th June, 2009 in Klang. The reading was an unhealthy 120.

The air quality in Malaysia is described in terms of Air Pollutant Index ( API ). The API is an indicator of air quuality and was developed based on scientific assessment to indicate in an easily understood manner, the presence of pollutants and its impact on health. The API system of Malaysia closedly follows the Pollutant Standard Index (PSI ) developed by the United States Environmental Protection Agency ( US-EPA )
The air pollutant index scale and term used in describing the air quality levels are as follows :
0-50 Good
51-100 Moderate
101-200 Unhealthy
201-300 Very Unhealthy
> 300 Hazardous
the CAQM stations measure the concentration of 5 major pollutants in the ambient air, namely, suspended particulated matters ( PM10 ), sulphur dioxide ( SO2 ), nitrogen dioxide ( NO2 ), carbon dioxide ( CO2 ), and ozone ( O3 ). These concentrations are measured continuously on hourly basis. The hourly value is then averaged over 24-hour running perioud for PM10 and SO2, 8-hour period for CO2, whilst O3 and NOx are readhourly. An hourly index is calculated for each pollutant. The highest index value recorded is then taken as the API for the hour.

Putrajaya Botanical Garden

Located at the northern section of Precinct 1, this park is designed as an arcadia or a national sanctuary for Malaysian plant taxonomy as well as a centre for education and research. The first phase of the park is now open to the public.

At the Canopy Bridge. The trees are yet to grow big enough to form a nice shade over the bridge. Come back another 10 years, maybe, if the bridge is still there.
